Copper Smelting to Sports

  • Copper Mountain Sports Park, originally built in 1999 on the site of a former copper ore smelter, rests just below the Timber Butte Hill, providing baseball fields, football fields, a driving range, and other recreational sites for the people of Butte, America.

  • Butte’s Legion Baseball Club needed a proper facility to take on their opponents and this project was a strike! SMA helped to imagine the new baseball field including elevated grandstands, dugouts, and ticket and concessions booths through renderings.

  • SMA completed the new ticket booth at the entrance to the baseball field. It was designed with Butte’s mining history in mind as well as the incredible mining buildings serving as inspiration for this small, but monumental and important building at the ballpark.

  • SMA is continuing to work with Butte-Silver Bow on proper dugouts for each team, a public restroom building, and a new team locker room.
