Process, Performance, Outcome

  • SMA’s design team was selected by the Montana National Guard to provide analysis and assistance of their current and proposed infrastructure and facilities on the 52+ acres that are leased from the USDA Forest Service.

  • Various studies and investigations were conducted to provide the best master plan possible for the Montana National Guard.

Streamlining the Facilities

  • The site, which is located near the Helena Regional Airport facilities, lacked organization and security, especially that of a National Guard Facility.

  • Antiterrorism Force Protection (ATFP) criteria were developed long after the construction of the existing Readiness Center, thus compliancy accommodations were very important to the design.
