Hauser Lake Haven

  • Nestled into the aggressively sloped site, this home was sited to take advantage of the incredible views to Hauser Lake.

  • The expansive southern facing glass and carefully planned roof overhang takes advantage of winter southern solar heat gain, while blocking unwanted summer solar heat gain.

  • Site arrival and plan progression follows a public to private progressions, offering the residence owners interior and exterior privacy, but also incredible public entertaining spaces for family and friends.

Designed with Climate in Mind

  • Building upon the basic principles of northern climate design, the back of the house is sheltered in the mountain; the hearth, placed at the rear, warms the home in the winter and opens to passive solar heat opportunities and light at the south façade.

  • The master suite located on the east end of the plan is the first space to be warmed by the rising winter sun.
