BIO

A structural engineer by trade, Jami joined SMA in 2023 as the Director of Firm Development after 20+ years of growing a thriving engineering office and one of SMA’s trusted collaboration partners. Raised in Montana, Jami attended Montana State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After working at Boeing in Seattle, she transitioned into structural consulting before moving back to Bozeman to start a family, enjoy the great outdoors, and open the Bozeman office for DCI Engineers in 2005. Through collective work on projects across Montana, Jami developed a deep relationship with her SMA colleagues as the firms built their businesses side-by-side. Her passion for employee and client engagement and desire to expand into other areas of the AEC field led her to join SMA. Jami is responsible for supporting the firm's strategic plan to promote, achieve, and sustain a culture of exceptional client service and employee engagement. Acting as an “SMA Ambassador,” Jami partners with the leadership team to collectively build and maintain a thriving community, facilitating connections between offices, clients, and project teams. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time in the mountains while serving on community and national non-profit boards.
