Klint became an integral part of our SMA family in 2013, and his presence has been a source of inspiration and strength for us all. Klint passed away in February 2024 after an 8-month battle with cancer. He will forever be remembered.

Klint was a Principal and Director of SMA’s Helena Office, and took great pride in leading an energetic and talented team. Klint led many of the firm’s most significant public projects in the Pre K-12 and higher education markets including East Middle School in Butte, East Helena High School, Central Elementary School in Helena, Yellowstone Hall at Montana State University, Knowles Hall and the New Dining Facility at the University of Montana. Klint dedicated much of his career to Pre K-12 educational planning and design.

As one of SMA’s educational design leaders, he partnered with school districts across the state on school planning, design, and construction projects. Klint presented at the Jeremy Bullock Safe School Summit and was a member of the Association for Learning Environments.

Klint’s passion for educational and community projects was deeply rooted in his Montana upbringing and a strong desire to give back to the great communities that have meant so much to him and his family.
