BIO
As one of SMA's principals and studio director, Marko spends most of his time in the office supporting the studios, filling the various roles and responsibilities that come with being an Architect – from forming an initial design vision with a client to the closeout of a construction project. He is critical to the ongoing success of SMA, and ensures SMA's systems, technologies, processes, and office management is scalable, innovative, and efficient. Ophus supports firm partners, business and production operations, and sees to it that project teams are setup for clients’ success. Marko is highly experienced with working on a variety of commercial projects, K-12 education, healthcare, and mixed-use.
Like many at SMA, Marko is also a native of Montana. In the summer, he loves exploring, camping, and hiking as much as possible. He enjoys working on his house, truck, and motorcycles and enjoys snowboarding and snowshoeing in the winter. He is thrilled at the opportunities being in Helena gives him - to work and live well and be close to family and friends. Mark is also a master at pranks, keeping the SMA team laughing on the daily.
